A New Year

January 5th, 2009

We wrapped up 2008 with the wedding of Brit Godwin and Matt Gay on December 20. 2008 was our best year yet and we’re already gearing up for 2009 to be even better.

These are some images from Brit and Matt Gay’s wedding. What an awesome couple, congratulations!

Golfing with Briny Baird

December 8th, 2008

Recently, we got the opportunity to spend the day with VSU Alum and PGA golfer Briny Baird on the 17th hole at Kinderlou Golf Course. Baird was the man of the hour at VSU Golf Team’s fundraiser. Meghann and I had a blast spending the day with Briny. He had alot of interesting tips for the golfers that attended this event. We would like to thank Jared Purvis, VSU’s Golf Coach, for having us.

Facebook!

October 8th, 2008

I know the blog has been a bit inactive lately (but you should see my Facebook page). Wes Sewell Photography is now on Facebook (www.facebook.com), and I’ve been playing there to set up the site.  Please drop by the site and become a fan. There are several photo albums up on Facebook. Comments and reviews are welcome.

Sugar & Spice

August 5th, 2008

Today was another fun filled day of beautiful photos of kids, puppies and brides . . . NOT!  Not every day can be perfect, not every photo can turn out just the way you intended.  Not every subject matter is intended to be pretty.  Which brings me to today’s assignment from Wild Adventures.  They came to the Studio along with a team of make-up artists, graphic designers and advertising managers to assist in the photo session.  It all went as planned, and here are a few of the photos that you will be seeing on Wendy’s cups, billboards, in newspapers and in magazines.  At the end of the day, not every photo is a beautiful one, but they all work.

Time to Dance

August 2nd, 2008

I have fun every where I go. But sometimes I have more fun than other times. At this photo session I had a ball. These girls kept me laughing so hard, I had to remember to take photos. Their moms enjoyed watching me show the girls how to pose next. (I doubt it was a pretty sight).   I don’t think they were expecting me to dance or anything—I hope not.  Anyway, the girls jumped, twirled, spun, and giggled.  We all had fun.  I can’t wait until they come back. _wes1277bwc-copy.jpg_wes1390-copy.jpg_wes0951bwc-copy.jpg

The Beach

July 23rd, 2008

My family and I spent a week at St. George Island. Where I go, my camera goes, so we scheduled some time for family photos—the whole group and couples.

You can definitely see the family resemblance among the boys. I did not, however, get the Charlie’s Angel gene that my brothers and nephew share.

It’s also the last summer before my beautiful and photogenic niece starts college. Of course, my wife starts college again every August. You’d think she would learn enough to quit attending, but I guess not.

My crazy cousin joined us this year with her granddaughter. We may have scared them off.

Brooke and Hernando’s Ritz-Carlton Wedding

June 10th, 2008

hm397.jpghm278.jpghm470.jpghm217.jpgbhm028-250.jpghm182.jpg

Brooke and Hernando’s wedding was fabulous. Jonathan and I traveled to
Sarasota Friday to take pictures of Brooke in her bridal gown before
the reception. These pictures show the beautiful bride on the beach.

The rehearsal flowed seamlessly at the Ritz-Carlton. Once the wedding
began the next day, the party began. Because of the warm weather, we
alternated between inside and outside shots. Of course, the
Ritz-Carlton looks beautiful inside and out–as do the bride and groom.
In fact, I had to keep showing them their pictures because they looked
so good.

The party continued into the night. The band energized everyone,
keeping the dance floor full until after midnight when I turned into a
pumpkin and went to bed.

Thanks, Brooke and Hernando, for allowing me to be your wedding
photographer. I had a ball.

blown away

June 10th, 2008

zjg123.jpgzjg203.jpgzjg206.jpgzjg215.jpgzjg482.jpg we weren’t back in the states for 5 minutes before we had at least 5 calls and even more emails about the pictures being up on the website and how beautiful they were!!!  and they were right.  we finally got to sit down and look and them all and we were blown away! they are absolutely amazing…and that is an understatement. i can’t find enough words to describe how incredible those pictures are.  when i looked at those pictures i completely forgot that it rained on my wedding day–except for the storm cloud pics of course!!  you and your wife (Jonathan & Carrie) did a wonderful job and gave us some amazing pictures to remember our wedding day.    zada and jeremy

Wes Sewell Photography and staff made my wedding experience
unforgettable.

The online proofing is so convenient and Wes always had
the pictures ready for proofing within a day or so.  My wedding day was
perfect and the large amount of pictures that Wes and his staff took
assured me that every memory was captured.

Volunteer Jam

May 13th, 2008

Here are some pictures for the Volunteer Jam–Charlie Daniels Band and .38 Special. 38-special-2627-by-wes-sewell.jpgall-38-special-2739-by-wes-sewell.jpg

I had forgotten how many .38 Special songs I knew until the band started playing. They even had to condense some of the songs into medleys to get them all in. And Charlie Daniels can make his fiddle sing. His concert is definitely high energy. charlie-daniles-band-by-wes-sewell-2907.jpgI caught his bow but gave it to the woman behind me who was holding a sign requesting it. My nephew would have loved that bow, but it didn’t seem right to keep it when she had been holding up a sign for a while. I look forward to next year’s Volunteer Jam.
